The IPL 2026 match between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on May 7 was already full of pressure and intensity, but a heated moment between Krunal Pandya and Nicholas Pooran left everyone stunned at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow.

IPL fans have seen arguments and aggressive celebrations many times before, but the heated exchange between Pandya and Puran looked very serious for a few moments. During the heated argument, both the players came very close to each other and it seemed as if things could go completely out of control.

The dramatic incident happened during the 10th over of Lucknow Super Giants’ innings when Krunal Pandya came to bowl. The RCB spinner had recently dismissed young batsman Arshin Kulkarni and was bowling with a lot of aggression and confidence.

After the wicket of Kulkarni, Puran came to bat under pressure. Krunal then tested the dangerous left-handed batsman with a fast short ball at good pace. Pooran managed to take one run, but tension had already started between the two players.

Things got worse on the next delivery. Pooran attacked the ball towards the long-on region and completed another single with ease. But immediately after the shot, Krunal was seen walking in the direction of the LSG batsman and teasing him, saying, “Show me a six-metre shot”.

This triggered an immediate angry reaction from Puran. The West Indies batsman turned and went straight towards Pandya. The RCB all-rounder also moved forward aggressively and within a few seconds both the players were standing almost face to face in the middle of the field.

A heated exchange broke out between the former LSG teammates and social media was immediately flooded with clips and reactions to the fiery moment. However, the drama did not end here.

Nicholas Pooran grabs Krunal Pandya by the collar after LSG vs RCB match

After LSG defeated RCB by 9 runs in Lucknow, another video started doing the rounds online in which Pooran was seen grabbing Pandya by the collar, but it was meant to be a friendly joke.

Both players were seen smiling, talking normally and shaking hands before eventually leaving the field. Although this incident made headlines, thankfully the matter calmed down between the two players.

Will BCCI take action against Krunal Pandya and Nicholas Pooran for their ugly fight?

The heated clash on the field between Puran and Pandya can now put both the players in trouble. Now there is a strong possibility that IPL may review this incident under various sections of the IPL Code of Conduct. Both players could face fines or disciplinary action for their aggressive behaviour.

Also read: In a major political move, former Indian fast bowler Ashok Dinda was appointed Sports Minister of Bengal.

This was a violation of Article 2.5 of the IPL Code of Conduct. This article deals with the use of words, gestures or actions that may provoke an angry or aggressive reaction from another player. Since Pandya was seen saying something to Pooran just before the argument broke out, this rule may apply.

The incident may also fall under Article 2.12, which deals with unfair and deliberate physical contact between players during a match. During the confrontation, both the players came very close to each other and that moment is now being widely discussed online.

Apart from this, IPL officials may also keep an eye on Article 2.20. This article deals with behavior that is against the spirit of the game and harms the image of cricket.
