A serial burglar suspect has been arrested in Beverlywood and is linked to about 25 other burglaries in Los Angeles, according to police.
On Monday, the Los Angeles Police Department responded to a report of a theft in the 1500 block of Rexford Drive, according to a news release from the police department. The resident heard a loud bang on her glass sliding door and saw on her security camera that a man had entered her home.
According to police, the resident locked himself in the bathroom and called 911.
Officers found the front door open and a man inside the home wearing a black hoodie and pants, police said. The man ran away but officers found him and took him into custody.
Kevin Diaz, 22, was arrested and police said he belonged to a South American theft group. He is believed to be linked to 25 other burglaries throughout Los Angeles, including 14 burglaries in the San Fernando Valley.
