seasons of grace
“Although I am the least of all the Lord’s people, this grace was given to me: to preach to the Gentiles the immeasurable riches of Christ, and to make clear to all the administration of this mystery, which was hidden for ages in God, who made all things.” -Ephesians 3:8 and 9
Have you ever felt the grace of God in your life? Conversely, have you ever felt when God’s grace is not present with you at all? I know there are some places I shouldn’t go, and some things I shouldn’t do – partly because I don’t feel God’s favor on those activities! But in other wonderful areas I feel His grace… and am able to move freely in them.
Grace is God’s gratuitous favor. It is by grace and through faith that we are saved. (Ephesians 2:8) But after our salvation, God gives us grace to do the work to which He has called us. However, we should not use grace to get what we want. (Romans 6:1) Rather, we use grace to help us do what He wants. (1 Corinthians 15:10)
In life, we may have noticed when grace “runs out” on a job or something that we knew we should have done initially. Although God’s grace never ends whether we turn to Him or serve Him, as we walk more and more with Him we realize that He anoints us to do different things during different seasons. When the season ends, we need to be sensitive and obedient to move on to the next place. Otherwise, we’ll find ourselves pressed and drained and wondering why we feel depressed.
“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in various forms.” -1 Peter 4:10
When Moses and the Israelites followed the cloud into the wilderness, they learned to trust and walk with God. Are you walking in step with God’s grace? Let us pray for God’s grace, so that His grace and anointing will be with us in every season.
