one in post on instagram, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg revealed the dates of the next Meta Connect event: September 23 and 24 at the company’s Menlo Park campus. Of course, it will also be streamed online. Zuckerberg also shared a (presumably clue-filled) playlist labeled “Connect 2026”, a list of what to expect, and a photo that appears to tease the smart glasses that will be revealed at the event:

The note Zuck shared promises “demos, special guests, AI updates, and better WiFi,” while also blurring out a fifth item. Mysterious! A post on the company’s blog Meta promised that the event would “share the latest in VR, wearables, the metaverse, and AI,” but I doubt those things are listed in order of importance.
Other than written-on sunglasses and a few cryptic clues, little is known about what Meta plans to showcase at the event. There are rumors that Meta is in the works A watch to compete with Apple WatchAnd there’s something roughly clock-shaped in the photo, so that’s a possibility. It would make sense if Meta finally revealed a full smart watch that also controls Meta Glasses, but there’s no way of knowing if the company exists yet. Hardcore virtual reality fans are looking forward to it Announcing a new Quest headsetWhich the company has confirmed is coming at some point, but if I had to guess, I’d say Meta is working hard to improve its artificial intelligence, because that’s the way of the world these days.

songs on Mark Zuckerberg’s “Vibes” playlist This primarily reveals the CEO’s pedestrian interest in music. I mean, Daft Punk’s “Better Stronger Faster” in 2026? A new Jack Harlow song? blink 182? Glass. It is not offering “state of the art” but a “safer alternative”.
