King Charles is particularly eccentric when it comes to driving.
Her Majesty, who has a keen eye for detail, prefers to travel alone when not at public events.
Speaking to Select Car Leasing, former Royal Butler, Grant Harrold, said that for the royal family, driving is “a bit of a normal thing and a freedom for them.”
He said that King Charles “often preferred to drive himself rather than use a chauffeur.”
Harold said that King Charles “always had a cushion on his seat to support his back, we always had to make sure there was a cushion there for him too.”
Harold said of King Charles, “He always worked away, especially if it was a long drive.” “But the King never has breakfast in the car because he really doesn’t like mess.”
“Queen Camilla in particular was known for always having her dogs in the car,” Harold then spoke about Queen Camilla.
“There was always a lot of hair in the back seat of his car where he sat,” Harold said.
