Robert Lewandowski has said goodbye to FC Barcelona after four wonderful seasons in an emotional message.
The 37-year-old Polish striker will leave FC Barcelona as a free agent when his contract expires after the 2025-2026 season after 119 goals, 24 assists and 190 appearances.
Lewandowski shared an emotional farewell message on Instagram, “After four years full of challenges and hard work, it’s time to move on. I leave with the feeling that the mission is accomplished. Four seasons, three championships. I will never forget the love I received from the fans from my first days.”
“Catalonia is my place on earth. Thank you to everyone I met along the way during these beautiful four years.”
Thanking the fans and President Laporta, he wrote, “Special thanks to President Laporta for giving me the chance to live the most incredible chapter of my career. Barça is back where it belonged. Visca el Barca. Visca Catalunya,” he said.
Lewandowski joined Barcelona from Bayern Munich in 2022 and soon became a key figure in the club’s rebuilding project. He helped the club win three La Liga titles, one Copa del Rey and three Spanish Supercups.
Barcelona also paid an excellent tribute to him in a post on X, titled, “Arrived as a star. Left as a legend.”
“Thank you, Robert Lewandowski, for every goal, every fight and every magical moment wearing these colors. Cuellar forever.”
His farewell message also created a stir on the internet. Fans started sending heartfelt messages and wishes.
One user wrote, “You are a legend not only for what you won, but you are a legend because of the time you gave us. Forever grateful for choosing Barcelona.”
Another commented, “You came to this club when no one wanted, scored 120 goals, won 7 trophies and completely changed this team. You are a Barça legend. Thank you for everything Levy.”
A third said, “I’ll never forget you Leva.”
Messages such as, “Thank you Goat for everything! Glad to see you score this beauty,” and “Thank you Levi. For everything you have done for Catalonia. We will never forget,” also paid tribute to the striker.
