Alaia Jeans are being replaced by considering denim as the second skin of sculpture. The house recently released its first Alaïa denim collection, and the campaign gets down to basics. Shot by photographer Sam Rock, the visuals feature model Mona Tougaard in a crisp studio setting that feels both real and intimate.

In a bold move, Mona is posed topless, surrounded by faceless models who act as human props. This option removes noise, and focuses solely on how the fabric interacts with the body. It’s a sentiment that emphasizes the brand’s obsession with the second skin.

Inspiration here is about the tension between control and spontaneity. Alaia spent an entire year in Japan researching these clothes to ensure that they didn’t just sit on the body, but actually sculpt it.

It features six key silhouettes, ranging from architectural round pants to fluid, floor-sweeping palazzos. Each piece, whether barrel cut or straight, is designed to last until it develops a custom patina. Whether it’s a vintage-inspired straight leg or a sharp skinny, this collection feels like a permanent uniform for the modern wardrobe.
