The path of death does not lead to life (24 March)

“But what fruit did you have at that time for the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. But now that you have been freed from sin and have become slaves of God, the fruit that you get leads to holiness and its end, eternal life” (Romans 6:21,22).

If we could see ourselves as God sees us, we would probably be surprised to see how contradictory our lives appear to Him. We say we desire life, but it would be sad for our Creator to see anything we do that is inconsistent with that goal.

If we persist in sin, hell is the only place we can go. The path that leads away from God will never lead us back to Him. But the foolish thing is that we believe this. we don’t want to change path, But somehow we assume that Destination The path may change. Yet the law of cause and effect applies to all of us. No special exceptions will be made. And one definition of insanity is, as we are told, “doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”

Solomon said, “There is a way that seems right to a man, but the end of it is the way of death” (Proverbs 14:12). This is what Paul said in the above text: “The Ending Among those things is death. In other words, eternal exile from God is not an arbitrary punishment – it is telos (a Greek word meaning “goal” or “outcome”) of our decision to reject God’s rule. God will not force us to love Him in eternity if we decide not to love Him in this life. Therefore, refusing (or even avoiding) reconciliation with God is a very serious matter. And we are in no position to dictate to God what the terms of our surrender will be. If He has chosen that it is through Jesus Christ that He will save us, then rejecting that plan can be nothing but disastrous.

As Robert Louis Stevenson famously said, “Sooner or later everyone sits down to the banquet of consequences.” Ultimately, there are only two paths available. Jesus advised us to be careful. “Enter through the narrow door. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter in by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few” (Matthew 7:13,14). Now is the time to resolve our contradictions. Let’s choose the path that leads to where we want to go.

“The road to Babylon will never bring you to Jerusalem” (old proverb).
