Kate Middleton and Prince William added stunning details to their wedding cake.
The Prince and Prince of Wales, who tied the knot in 2011, reached out to a celebrity baker to create their traditional fruitcake.
“I get goosebumps just thinking about that phone call,” said baker Fiona Cairns. “The couple actually reached out to us. We went to Clarence House and had a meeting with the Princess and we had a cup of tea,” Baker revealed.
“Three days later we got the call and I’ll never forget it,” she told Country Life.
He added, “The Prince and Princess of Wales (then Prince William and Kate Middleton) asked for a classic fruit cake, which is the cake used at all royal weddings since the time of Queen Victoria.”
“The cake served for the wedding breakfast was actually served to about 600 (guests) and weighed about 70 kilos,” the expert said.
