Meghan Markle is said to be standing firm with the financial success of her trip to Australia with Prince Harry despite the backlash.
The Duchess of Sussex is “proud” of the cash haul despite growing criticism over mixing her philanthropic appearances with business activities, according to a report.
While Meghan is believed to see the earnings as a strategic win and a reflection of her driven approach, an insider said the focus on money has made Harry uncomfortable.
“The idea that these terminally ill children have come to welcome you because you’re a member of the royal family and a few hours later you’re promoting your ‘hospital look’ for money,” he said.
The insider added, “The Queen would never have thought this could happen because it’s just basic human decency.”
However, Meghan doesn’t seem to have a problem with her appearance, with one insider saying she is “incredibly inspired”.
“She’s one of those people who is very eager to achieve her goals; success is very addictive to her. Money has been a concern for her lately so this cash investment is a big win and she’s proud of it.”
“But it’s really uncomfortable for Harry. He was taught never to talk about money. The fact that she’s talking so much about numbers rubs him the wrong way; he finds it very cheesy.
“He says he wishes she would stop constantly talking about money and enjoy what they already have. He worries that she is stressing herself out so much about the future that she is missing out on everything they have.”
