Apple to launch M4 chip-powered Mac Mini in 2024, with 256GB storage in base model. The model went out of stock on Apple’s online store in some countries, including the US, last month and has now been removed from Apple’s website worldwide.
As a result, the new base storage for the M4 Mac Mini on Apple’s website is 512GB, priced at $799 with the default 16GB RAM option. There are two more options of RAM – 24GB and 32GB. If you want more storage, you can upgrade to 1TB or 2TB.
If you upgrade to the M4 Pro chip, you can get a Mac mini with up to 64GB of RAM and 8TB of storage.
During Apple’s recent Q2 earnings call, Apple CEO Tim Cook acknowledged the constrained supply of the Mac mini and attributed it to high demand, while also saying that it could take several months for Apple to achieve supply-demand balance.
“On the Mac mini and Mac Studio, both of these are amazing platforms for AI and agentic tools, and its customer adoption is happening faster than we predicted, and so we saw more demand than we expected,Tim Cook said.
