Queen Camilla is admired for her personality and strength of character.
Her Majesty, who is considered King Charles’s right-hand woman, knows that the monarchy is about strength and survival.
Christopher Wilson, author of the book A Greater Love-Charles and Camilla, says: “She is every bit as confident as the old Queen Mother when it comes to flashing a sweet smile and saying the right thing to make people feel comfortable,” Wilson said.
“But – again like the Queen Mother – Camilla has a ruthless streak which she takes care to keep hidden from view.”
“The monarchy is about survival and Camilla understands that,” Wilson said.
“She has read the history books and knows how, when the House of Windsor was brought to its knees with the abdication of King Edward VIII in 1936, she set fire to the belly of her reluctant husband.”
