Jena Malone recalls the chaotic fun she had while filming the 2004 cult satire Saved!
Speaking with People Magazine, the actress also recalled a prank that angered the production.
Malone revealed that she once “stole a school bus” during a lunch break while shooting the film with Macaulay Culkin, Mandy Moore, and Eva Amurri.
He said, “I remember I stole a school bus when we were on set.”
He continued, “(During lunch) I stole a school bus, took the whole cast, and we just drove around. I mean, production was so angry. They were yelling at me, and I came back, and I was blowing the horn. I did all the things I probably wouldn’t do today, but I was 18. I was young.”
The Hunger Games actress also shared another behind-the-scenes prank involving Culkin, revealing that she once broke into his hotel room and turned all of his furniture upside down.
“We were definitely good at pranking,” he said.
Plus, Jena Malone said Saved! It is one of the films for which he is most recognized by fans.
He said, “I think it’s high school movies like Saved! and Donnie Darko (which fans remember). For people who watched Saved!, it really had an impact on them at a certain age or whenever they got it.”
The actress added, “I get the sweetest hugs and it’s potentially even more of a cathartic fan experience.”
